The Web Server: WAMP5
Ever had problems installing Apache + PHP + MySQL ? Stop wasting your time looking for a tutorial how to configure the innumerable options in order for the three to work together. Stop looking back and forth in the endless configuration files. Now you have a far easier-to-do alternative : WAMP Server, or WAMP5 for short.
" WAMP5 installs automatically Apache 1.3.31 ,PHP5, MySQL database ,PHPmyadmin and SQLitemanager on your computer. It's principal aim is to allow you to easily discover the new version oh PHP : PHP5. WAMP5 comes with a service manager installed as a tray icon. It allows you to manage WAMP5 and access all services."

Quite useful, indeed.

The Script: Lightbox JS v2.0
Lightbox JS is a simple, unobtrusive script used to overlay images on the current page. It's a snap to setup and works on all modern browsers.
Based on JavaScript, Lightbox JS is fairly easy to install and modify according to your needs. What you need to do is simply to include three JavaScript files in the header of your page, and make some corresponding modifications to image calls. The end result is quite effective.

... The overall trend: We have begun moving all our software, data, and even our social activities onto the Web en masse and the demand for high-quality online sites and applications that support this shift in primary focus from the PC to the Internet is there in vast numbers (there are now 1 billion users on the Web today). The net result is that 2006 brought us some of the best online applications ever created and you can see the results for yourself below."
